Greek islands to visit

Summer is right around the corner and it seems the Greek Islands are on everyone’s radar! One of the most common questions I’m receiving lately is how to choose which Greek Island to visit. It’s important to note that there are actually over 6,000 Greek Islands, but only a handful that are well-known and convenient to get to from Athens.

However, I am happy that the last years some bloggers write about Naxos, Paros, and the islands around Athens (Hydra, Poros, Aegina) too, but as a country with over 6000 islands (of which over 220 are inhabited), I think it is time for the travellers to go a bit deeper regarding which Greek island to visit, when and why. Given there are over 6000 beautiful Greek islands, of which roughly 227 are inhabited, deciding which one to visit is always a hard decision to make.
