Jan 1, 2022 · Peer-mediated intervention, an approach emphasizing student-to-student interaction, is a promising, readily-available approach to support emergent bilinguals in the classroom by developing positive peer relationships in efforts to impact academic success (Cole, 2013; Pyle, Pyle, Lignugaris/Kraft, Duran, & Akers, 2017). Peer-mediated instruction and interventions (PMII)—or any instruction or intervention implemented with another child without disabilities—can be applied in a variety of different ways.
