SPM has a better infinity pool and I prefer the beach here., Playa Mujeres is a little cleaner/clearer than Akumal (this can vary according to the seasons and weather), but Akumal offers turtles and snorkeling. There is a charming little shopping village just off the beach; Playa Mujeres does not have anywhere to explore immediately outside of the resort.
